🎵 About Me: I am a highly ambitious individual with a perpetual awareness that there is always room for learning and growth. Through unwavering consistency and a relentless pursuit of personal goals, I have engaged in diverse projects throughout my undergraduate years. While I have a distinctive sound of my own, I also explore beyond conventional boundaries. Fueled by a persistent curiosity about the intricacies behind my favourite tracks, I recognize the importance of venturing into unfamiliar musical genres and consistently emulating the styles of artists who excel in bringing innovative and aspiring sounds to the forefront.
”Hold You Down” Collaborative Process
I first crossed paths with Kevin during my second year at university, while he was pursuing his Master's degree. Our meeting was serendipitous, and as we exchanged introductions and discussed our respective interests, I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement upon discovering our shared passion for AfroBeats.
In that same year, as 2022 unfolded, the AfroBeats genre was rapidly gaining popularity, with notable tracks like "Calm Down" by Rema, "Finesse" by Pheelz & Bnxn, and hits from artists such as FireBoy DML and Lojay coming to the forefront. This musical landscape provided me with a wealth of inspiration and references, shaping my understanding of the genre.
This newfound knowledge became instrumental in our collaborative effort to produce a track. The synergy between AfroBeats and a Jamaican artist further enriched the creative process, enhancing our songwriting capabilities. By tailoring the production to showcase the artist's unique talents, I was able to amplify their cheerful demeanour and capture a relaxed yet upbeat vibe. The result was a fusion of cultural influences and musical expertise, culminating in a track that truly resonated with the essence of AfroBeats.
🎹 Production Philosophy: It is always the top priority to enter each project with an open mind and willingness to explore new depths. Active listening is imperative when approaching collaborative work to ensure that the needs of the colleague are being met. The main aim is to always encourage and bring the best out of the artist I am working with.
My typical style derives influence from numerous styles of dance music. Generally ranging across genres of Deep house, Drum ‘N Bass, Melodic House & Techno.
Sound influences typically derive from sounds of space and subtle influences from my most aspired artists (Tchami, Ben Böhmer, Throttle and Elderbrook). My main individual style is taking the listener to an imaginary space outside of reality and combining numerous melodic elements all at the same time, to make sure something is always catching the listeners ear within the sonic space.

Porter Robinsons sound
in the album ‘Nurture’
My aim for this project is to produce five dance tracks by combining fusion genres present in the album “Nurture” by Porter Robinson. Consisting of breakbeats and sounds from the 90s UK rave scene.
With a predominant focus on Jungle’s “extreme” sonic effects with samplers playing old soul/funk/hip hop breakbeats, vocals, and 808s influenced by Reggae sound systems, with time-stretched samples and pitch modulation, for that gritty Akai 12-bit sampler sound, and the modern genre of emotional Future Bass with J-core cute aesthetics and further influences of J-pop melodic piano lines. The goal of this is to explore in more depth production techniques fostered during the evolving stages of the EDM scene to combine old aesthetics with the new. To achieve a plethora of immersive, emotional, storytelling pieces, all relating to a theme of comfort.

Music for Dance
SOLAR ECLIPSE
With a main expertise in EDM, GhostCat captivates audiences by enveloping them in a sonic journey through space, achieved through immersive pads and lively dance rhythms. This track provides a reason for audiences to unleash all emotions through awe-inspiring, dark themes of Drum & Bass music.
Main themes:
total isolation, long distance, separation, search of light and utter darkness.
In our performance, the solo dancer (Anika) portrays the Moon Goddess in a story of long-distance love with the Sun God. This narrative, though fictional, magnifies the personal tribulations of navigating isolation and the anguish of losing touch with loved ones. Through the symbolic connection within the song, typically the Moon Goddess and Sun God communicate using a telescope, bridging the vast expanse between them. This exaggerates the struggles of isolation and loss, symbolized by the Moon Goddess's inability to see the Sun during a solar eclipse. Through this narrative, we explore the Sun's role as a source of love and vitality, contrasting with the darkness of separation. It encapsulates the anguish of losing this vital connection during times of utter darkness, inviting the audience to reflect on the enduring power of love amidst adversity and loss of love due to traumatic experiences.
Track Details
Brief Description:
Inside Out incorporates influences from HorrorCore, Alternative Pop, Film, Lofi Hip Hop, and Jazz. Audiences are engaged with hard-hitting beats which stand above an immersive, ambient, dynamic soundscape accompanied by sounds of terror.
Classic string orchestra contributed to energy crescendos through relaxed legato movement, texture build, and staccato notes to exaggerate urgency, without overtaking the sonic space and frequency span.
Hard-hitting modern Hip Hop beats mixed with Jazzy piano, airy leads, and Lo-fi/Jungle ambient pads aided the creation of contrast we cultivated as our overall concept for the project. Sounds represent how hope is still found within a soundscape filled with horror and tragedy.
A main goal for Sound design was to use movement to represent how the soundtrack is never settled and the character feels constant anxiety.
Pads were crafted to have concurring movement: panning, filter, phase, detuning, and levels through self-drawn patterns on LFOs.
Soundscapes immerse the audience by highlighting different areas within the stereo image, catching their ear, and dramatizing location. (Likewise, in-game/film soundtracks for horror)
Vocal FX is inconsistent and varies in tonal quality. All 'self-hating’ messages are changed with pitch bending, delay, and phase effects to greatly alter the original dry vocal and creep out the audience with inhumane, bothersome sounds.
One human voice recites therapeutic lines and becomes clearer as the filter opens up. This best represents the real inside voice of the character. As this humane voice rises to attention, the darker vocals become less apparent and the character feels somewhat calmer after blocking out destructive behavior.

Sound Design with Serum (Solo instrument sounds):
Electronic Sound Design and world instruments are combined to complement each other towards creating an emotive experience fit for contemporary dance and to shift the narrative forward.
Highly processed vocal excerpts speaking of dark ideas represent negative thoughts. Dry Vocals are altered with distortion, pitch bend with LFOs, and phase effects to cultivate dissonant, unsteady, and distressing vocals fit for a horror movie.
Jazz-style piano and string orchestra accompaniment craft gracefulness, expressing moving movements fit for sympathetic feeling, regularly accustomed to Film Music and dance performance.
Nostalgia-inducing piano works were a main source of reference, a piano style that struck feelings of reminiscence, making the audience feel more personally related to the character/story of the choreographed piece.
One can experience numerous negative emotions from varying tones of voice at the same time. Despite how disorganized and pessimistic one may feel on the Inside, no one else can hear that from the Outside. Overall concluding the essence of our concept, by voicing all inner ‘ugliness’ to the outer surface. The character’s hidden attributes are turned, Inside Out.

Cyberpunk tracks 🌃 🏙️ 🌆
This idea of “low life” represents real-world problems. With corrupt governments, gentrification of cities, unequal treatment of class/status, and gang warfare on the streets. This contrasts with the bright and endearing image of the city, which benefits those who created it and the abundantly rich/fortunate who can afford it. This is however the consequence of the general public, who are constantly being monitored and controlled by advanced technology crafted by the restraining/suppressive government. Whilst massive advertisement boards and 3D projections falsely advertise living situations as a place for ‘free living’ and full of ‘opportunities’. Overall this prediction of the future encapsulates our current situation in the modern city. This prediction reflects how things are progressively heading toward a developed city, with a major disparity between members of the high, mid, and working class.

The brief I was given to craft a musical score exactly like what is found in the game Cyberpunk 2077 (Denpa/synthpop/punk rock style). The goal was for an action-packed theme to match the story of the upcoming game where the story shifts onto this sci fi style in an urgebtmatter of combat. It is unclear how the game will turn out during such early developments, but have been assured that my production fits the game perfectly and has received great marks from Professors.

The music in Kirby games typically falls under the umbrella of various genres, but it is commonly associated with upbeat and whimsical tunes that complement the lighthearted and colorful nature of the Kirby series. The music in Kirby games often includes elements of orchestral, jazz, electronic, and ambient genres.

The title Fruits vs Vegetables represents a platformer with the typical mechanics. Clearing levels, exploring, and avoiding obstacles of either Fruits/Vegetables (as there is combat between the two). Characters will be colorful and the play style will relate to Mario and Kirby where you have to defeat/clear cute-looking enemies within a green, whimsical nature backdrop.
There are no current Prototypes for the game as it is in the early stages, but there is audio to compare the different roles during collaboration with Armin. Armin’s role was to compose the orchestration (as his main expertise is film music) and my contribution was Sound design, adding the whimsical quality with catchy melodies, memorable tunes, and jazzy/upbeat drums to evoke a sense of adventure and joy.
Many Thanks to those involved:

The specific genre of Kirby music may vary from game to game, as the series has explored different musical styles over its various installments. The composers for the Kirby series, such as Jun Ishikawa and Hirokazu Ando, have played a significant role in creating the iconic and diverse soundscapes that contribute to the overall charm of the Kirby games.

Cyberpunk 2077 Music
(Highlighting Game Genres and Distinct Characteristics)
Typically, music in futuristic games is rooted in the distinctive style of Synthwave. Cyberpunk 2077 boasts an extensive soundtrack with over 150 tracks spanning genres like punk rock, synthpop, Denpa (as the games predominant genres), and newer additions like Latin hip-hop.
The soundtracks from the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty game, my primary focus, are marked by suspenseful compositions featuring background string/bass drones, impactful kicks, high-frequency slap snares, and influences ranging from drum 'n bass/dubstep to screechy, dirty neuro tones, stab bass sounds, and wide, ominous square wave leads.
GhostRunner
(Highlighting Game Genres and Distinct Characteristics)
GhostRunner features a more focused soundtrack style, primarily centered around EBM (industrial and synth-punk) and Dark Synth genres.
The tracks are heavily synth-based, characterized by prominent saw sounds, alerting tones, repeating ostinatos predominantly led by saw leads with automated panning/tremolos, square acid basses, accentuated off-beat 16th note hi-hats that repeat consistently, and regular alternating repetitions of hard-hitting kicks and snares directly on the beat.

Platformer games, also known as platform games, are a genre of video games characterized by the emphasis on navigating characters through a series of levels while overcoming obstacles and challenges. The core mechanic in platformers involves controlling a character, often a protagonist, as they move across platforms suspended in the game world. These platforms can be surfaces, ledges, or structures, and players must use their character's abilities to jump, run, and sometimes perform other actions to navigate through the environment.
Iconic examples of platformer games include Super Mario Bros., Sonic the Hedgehog, and Donkey Kong. While the genre has evolved over the years, the core gameplay mechanics of navigating characters through levels and overcoming obstacles remain central to platformer games.
Contacts:
Jumping: The primary action in platformers is jumping. Players need to time and execute jumps to avoid obstacles, reach higher platforms, or progress through the level.
Levels: Platformers are often divided into levels or stages, each presenting a new set of challenges and obstacles. Completing a level typically allows the player to progress to the next one.
Obstacles: Platformers include various obstacles and hazards such as enemies, spikes, pits, and moving platforms. Players must navigate through these challenges to reach their objectives.
Exploration: Many platformers encourage exploration to discover hidden areas, collectibles, and power-ups that can enhance the character's abilities or provide other benefits.
Puzzle Elements: Some platformers incorporate puzzle-solving elements, requiring players to figure out how to progress through a level by manipulating objects, activating switches, or solving environmental puzzles.
Power-ups and Abilities: Characters in platformers often have special abilities or power-ups that enhance their mobility or combat capabilities. These can include double jumps, speed boosts, or the ability to shoot projectiles.
Scrolling: Platformers may feature scrolling, where the game world moves horizontally or vertically to reveal new sections of the level. This can be side-scrolling or vertical-scrolling, depending on the game's design.
